
Los Angeles witnessed another moment of road chaos when an LAPD Valley Traffic Division Unit became involved in a three-vehicle crash on June 4, 2024, during an attempt to stop a speeding vehicle. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Balboa Boulevard and took a turn for the worse as the police vehicle, in pursuit of a suspected street racer with loud exhaust failing to heed a traffic stop, collided with a Toyota Camry that was trying to make a westbound turn onto Burbank Boulevard from the northbound lane, according to the LAPD.
In the aftermath of the collision, the Camry was hit again by the police car this time involving another vehicle that was stationary on Burbank Boulevard, The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics rushed to provide aid and transported the passengers of the Camry to the hospital for medical treatment, the LAPD officer involved was also taken for the treatment of minor injuries while the driver of the third vehicle was not harmed. The LAPD's Multi Disciplinary Collision Investigation Team (MCIT) was summoned to the scene to take the helm of the Traffic Crash Report investigation, shedding light on the details of the mishap.
The current status of the hospitalized victims has not been disclosed, but the LAPD is reaching out for assistance from the public to piece together what transpired.
