
A Las Vegas man has been taken into custody after allegedly stealing a vehicle and assaulting a deputy during a pursuit that spanned California and Nevada. In a statement released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, 31-year-old Daniel Waggoner was arrested following a chase that started near a Shell Gas station in Needles, California, and ended south of Searchlight, Nevada, as reported by the SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
The incident occurred on June 3 when deputies from the Colorado River Station were alerted to the theft at approximately 10:00 P.M. On sighting the vehicle, an attempt was made to pull over Waggoner, who then elected to lead authorities on a lengthy 90-mile chase. The suspect was reported to have driven erratically and purposefully rammed a deputy's vehicle with the stolen car, putting authorities in significant danger.
