Lewisville Neighborhood Services is rolling out the welcome mat for residents interested in home enhancement resources and funding opportunities by hosting a complimentary workshop on Tuesday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m., located at the Queen Margaret Community Center on 2501 Queen Margaret Drive, as reported by the City of Lewisville, Texas.
Initially slotted for June 18 but now pushed to July, the event has been curated to educate attendees on the grant application process, walking them through the steps necessary for securing financial assistance for those looking to spruce up their homes – assistance that flows from city-sponsored initiatives such as the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, all part of the city's strategy to foster "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods," a component of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan.
The city's Property Enhancement Program offers a grant-rebate matching deal that can cover up to 50 percent of external home repair costs, capping at a predetermined amount for qualified residents, the workshop is poised to provide insights into how applicants can tap into this financial support, while the Love Your Block initiative proffers a $500 reimbursable mini-grant tailor-made for localized community building projects, with applications open throughout the year.
Moreover, neighborhoods driven to amplify their appeal can look to the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, which matches grants upwards of $12,500 for collective improvements, think entryway embellishments, community safety teams, park upgrades, or simply a community sign that declares the neighborhood's identity.
Interested residents should mark their calendars for the upcoming bi-monthly workshops, with dates set for Aug. 20 at the Lewisville Grand Theater, Sept. 10 at Thrive, Oct. 15 back at the Queen Margaret Community Center, Nov. 19 at the Lewisville Public Library, and rounding out the year on Dec. 17 once again at the Lewisville Grand Theater, where information presented can transform from a mere seminar into the foundational blocks for beautification and unity within the Lewisville community.
