Firefighters in Larchmont tamed an early morning blaze that erupted at a residence on 636 N Lucerne Blvd today. According to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert, the fire began at around 9:01 AM and threatened to spread to adjacent homes. The incident report from the scene described the situation as a "structure fire to the rear of a one-story residence."
The fire, which consumed a part of the 1,268-square-foot home, was battled by 37 firefighters who dispatched from the nearby Fire Station 52. Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, revealed in a follow-up announcement that the team was able to access and confine the fire and achieved a "knockdown" in just 27 minutes. Remarkably, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The efficiency of the Los Angeles Fire Department is nothing short of commendable. Their swift action undoubtedly spared the community from a potentially more devastating outcome.
