Firefighters from Station 14, along with other units, were dispatched to the scene. Well involved with the fire, the garage presented an immediate threat to the adjacent structures. The incident was updated by LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphrey, saying, "Detached garage or shed well involved with fire, to the rear of a one-story home, with flames threatening a diesel generator."
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the efforts of LAFD prevented what could have been a much larger disaster. The statement credits the team’s swift action: " 32 Firefighters took just 15 minutes to access, confine and extinguish stubborn flames, confining fire to the structure." It remains unclear what started the fire as the investigation is ongoing. No injury was reported in the blaze, as reported by the LAFD.
