
Early this morning in Vermont Vista, a structure fire was reported at a residence on 118th Street. The Los Angeles Fire Department quickly responded to the incident, with 52 firefighters battling the blaze that started on the first floor of the large 2,478 square foot home. In under half an hour, the team managed to knock down the fire, preventing it from causing further devastation.
According to the official LAFD alert, the operation commenced at 12:30 AM and, lasted for about 29 minutes before the fire was under control. Firefighters discovered an adult female inside the residence, who required immediate medical treatment, she was then transported to an area hospital by ambulance. Her current medical condition remains undisclosed.
Fortunately, there were no other reported injuries from the incident. The swift response from firefighters minimized potential injuries and further damage to surrounding structures.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire. At this point, no further information has been released pertaining, to the circumstances that led up to the incident. The neighborhood, still reeling from the night's events, awaits updates on both the condition of the rescued woman and the origin of the fire.
