A tragic incident occurred on June 14 when a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive, as reported by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. The accident took place at around 11:06 pm, which led to emergency responders quickly arriving at the scene to provide life-saving measures.
The motorcyclist, who was ejected from the bike due to the collision, was transported to Los Robles Hospital. Despite the efforts to save him, he later died from his injuries. According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Senior Deputy Marcos Moreno confirmed that the victim has been identified as Jose Luis Diaz Cruz, a 21-year-old resident of Oxnard. The driver of the car involved suffered minor injuries and has since been released from the hospital.
Following the incident, the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the next of kin notification. Authorities are now appealing to the public for more information.
