Victorville saw tensions escalate when Lance Jaeger, a 56-year-old Nevada resident, was arrested after brandishing a knife at protestors on Sunday afternoon. The SBSD - Victorville Police Department reported that deputies were summoned to the scene at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and I-15 Freeway, following reports of a man wielding a large knife.
According to the Victorville Police Department, Jaeger was attempting to remove a "Free Palestine" flag from a fence using a knife. Witnesses described Jaeger as having walked around multiple bystanders with the knife in hand before deputies arrived. Upon their arrival, he was found standing in the roadway, pointing the knife at several protestors on the sidewalk, issuing threats.
Victorville Police Department indicated that Jaeger was taken into custody without further incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for assault with a deadly weapon, a violation of P.C. 245(A)(1).
