Fort Bend County's dining scene just got hotter with a slew of Asian and Asian-inspired restaurants opening their doors, delivering a taste of Eastern cuisine to Texas. If you crave sushi, hot pots, or ramen, look no further than these recent additions, each with its own flavor and flair.
Among the newcomers is Toyama Sushi & Ramen, located at 1433 FM 1463 in Katy. According to an interview with the Houston Chronicle, owner Amber He brought her culinary craft to Fort Bend County seeking better educational opportunities for her son. Toyama offers a culinary retreat, featuring fare like black garlic ramen, spicy octopus salad, and a vast assortment of sushi rolls. Making the move from Corpus Christi, where He owns three other eateries, she brings experience and a touch of Japanese-fusion to the table.
Not to be missed in Sienna is Fuya Café, shining a beam on Asian-fusion with dishes that range from lo mein to Thai curry. Rolled out on April 7, this spot has set up shop at 9720 Hwy. 6 in Missouri City, offering a spot for locals to indulge in spicy chicken wings or tangerine chicken, all under the umbrella of Asian-inspired charm, as the Houston Chronicle reported.
For those with a penchant for Korean cuisine, Sweet Pot K-Kitchen has set up camp in the First Colony area of Sugar Land at 15295 Southwest Fwy. Known primarily for its hot pots, the restaurant also plates a medley of Korean dishes, alongside sweet treats like yakgwa and bingsu. In between bites, patrons can mull over the fact that, as reported by the Houston Chronicle, dining prices accommodate both large and small appetites, with kids under three eating free.
And finally, poking its head around the corner is Poke Poki, specializing in customizable sushi bowls and tapioca tea, promising to stir the pot in Missouri City's food scene. Located at 5936 Hwy. 6, Poke Poki's blend-your-own approach to poke bowls lets customers get creative with ingredients like tuna, shrimp, or tofu. Sited to have opened this June, the establishment has been met with delays, as per information from My Neighborhood News, leaving locals all the more eager for its debut.
While each of these eateries has its unique draw, they collectively contribute to Fort Bend County's blossoming Asian food panorama. It's clear that the county’s residents and visitors are in for a treat, as these restaurants dish out both traditional and fusion flavors, broadening the culinary horizons of the Texas food landscape.
