An ongoing homicide investigation has gripped the community of Northampton Township, where the body of an elderly woman was discovered this past Sunday. According to an announcement by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, 82-year-old Dolores Ingram was found dead inside her condo located at 26024 Beacon Hill Drive, in the Holland area.
The events took a grim turn when Metropolitan D.C. Police officers took Ingram's son, 49-year-old William Michael Ingram, into custody after an altercation that involved him assaulting an officer and damaging a police vehicle. It was during this arrest that the suspect made a startling admission to the officers, he claimed that he had killed his mother, as reported by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
The investigation, which is a collaborative effort between the Bucks County District Attorney's Office and the Northampton Township Police Department, led to a welfare check on Ingram initiated by a call from the D.C. Police to the local radio dispatchers. The autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled for today, shedding light on the circumstances of the tragedy.
While the community reels from the shock of such an incident unfolding in their midst, law enforcement is keeping details close to the vest as they proceed. Information on motive or the specifics of Dolores Ingram's death, remain scant. The official autopsy results have yet to be disclosed, and the investigation continues as the Bucks County authorities piece together the sequence of events that culminated in this tragic loss.
