The Oxnard Police Department, in collaboration with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, has arrested David Gasca, a 28-year-old Oxnard resident, for possession of stolen firearms and narcotics intended for sale. According to a news release from the Oxnard Police Department, Gasca, a known gang member barred from having firearms due to a prior conviction, was apprehended on June 21, 2024, following an investigation into his activities related to controlled substances.

During the search of Gasca’s home on the 2600 block of El Dorado Ave in Oxnard, detectives discovered a trove of illegal items. Four loaded handguns, a sawed-off rifle, ammo, and two handguns that were reported stolen in Ventura County, were among the found weapons. Additionally, an undisclosed amount of cash and several drugs were seized, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription pills all earmarked for sale. Gasca now faces several charges ranging from drug sales to firearms offenses, and his involvement with a local street gang further complicates his legal situation.

The City of Oxnard and its law enforcement are actively working to curb the tide of drug overdoses, gang-related crimes, and gun violence plaguing the area. Scott Coe, a Sergeant with the Oxnard Police Department, has urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in these investigations and contribute to the city's safety.
