Philadelphia police are on the hunt for a suspect following the recent burglary at St. Helena’s Parish Church. The crime, captured on security footage, took place on May 21, and now the footage has been released to the public in an effort to locate the individual responsible for the property crime.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department's release, the suspect is described as a black male, in his 30s or 40s, with a medium build and beard. He was seen wearing a light blue shirt, blue coat, and a dark-colored knit hat, walking from 4th St towards the church at approximately 2:30 am.

The suspect broke into the church by forcibly entering through the back door. Once inside, the security system was compromised as the man disconnected the cameras. Items within the church were reported as missing, though the police have not specified what was taken. After an undetermined amount of time, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction, leaving the St. Helena’s Parish Church community to grapple with the losses.
