
A suspect has been arrested following the fatal shooting of two individuals in Houston, and has been charged with capital murder, according to an official statement from the City of Houston. The incident, which claimed the lives of a man and a woman, occurred late on Saturday night at 1300 North Post Oak Road, with the police receiving the call at around 10:45 p.m.
Harris County authorities have identified the accused as Gustavo Flores, 40, who was apprehended following investigative efforts by the Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division Detectives K. Hale and A. Ledford, who found Flores' vehicle and he got arrested without incident approximately two hours after the incident, deputies from Victory County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest performing a successful traffic stop. The victims' names are currently withheld pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences; the double homicide has sent ripples throughout the community, sparking discussions on public safety and gun violence.
Upon arriving at the scene, HPD patrol officers discovered the victims with gunshot wounds in the parking lot; Houston Fire Department paramedics were called to the location but pronounced both victims deceased at the scene. The prompt response by law enforcement led to the rapid identification and arrest of Flores, who now awaits transport back to Harris County, after being booked into the Victoria County Jail, the official report includes a booking photo provided courtesy of the Victoria County Jail.
