In a recent move that emphasizes Texas' growing footprint in the automotive industry, Governor Greg Abbott marked the inauguration of the Vehicle Accessory Group’s new corporate headquarters along with its manufacturing plant during a ribbon-cutting event in Mesquite. The state's business-friendly policies were on full display as Governor Abbott announced that the new facility, a substantial $65 million investment, is set to bring more than 600 manufacturing jobs to North Texas, reported by the Office of Greg Abbott.

Amid the traditional fanfare that accompanies such openings, the Governor extolled the benefits that the relocation, moving over 300 jobs from New York and California to Texas, and an additional 600 new jobs, would bring to the state. “With this new manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters, Vehicle Accessory Group is moving more than 300 jobs from New York and California and creating over 600 new jobs right here in Texas,” Governor Abbott said. He emphasized Texas' ability to offer businesses the necessary climate, workforce, and infrastructure required for success. Interestingly, the economic heft of Texas was also a highlight, as Governor Abbott praised the state's $2.4 trillion economy and its continuous recognition as the Best State for Business, even bagging the Governor's Cup for the most corporate relocation and expansion projects nationwide for twelve consecutive years.

During the grand opening, Governor Abbott was accompanied by several notable figures, including Vehicle Accessory Group Chairman J. Pearson and Executive Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for Toyota North America, Chris Nielsen. Local government representatives, like City of Mesquite Mayor Daniel Aleman Jr., and City Manager Cliff Keheley also joined the ceremony. They, alongside a gathering of more than a 150 business and community leaders, heard the Governor’s affirmation of Texas as the "economic engine of America." A proclamation was presented to VA Group Chairman J. Pearson during the event, honoring the opening of their new headquarters and manufacturing facility, as stated in the Governor's news post.

The Vehicle Accessory Group, according to the same post by the Governor's office, is a notable player in the manufacturing of automotive dealer-installed accessories for original equipment manufacturers. This expansion further solidifies Texas' stature as a hub for automotive manufacturing and business opportunities. With 'Made in Texas' touted as a thriving global brand, Governor Abbott's administration appears firmly committed to attracting and supporting corporations looking to establish or expand their operations within the state's borders, underscoring its image as a state where entrepreneurial and manufacturing ambitions can find fertile ground.
