
A young girl's chilling ordeal ended safely in North Philadelphia when she was found unharmed after a man stole the car she was in, law enforcement officials reported. The Philadelphia Police Department stated the incident occurred Saturday just after 1:30 p.m. when a man, described to be in his mid-twenties, hijacked a blue Honda Odyssey on the 2600 block of North 16th Street, with the owner's 11-year-old daughter inside, NBC Philadelphia said.
The stolen vehicle and the child were later found on the 3200 block of Randolph Street, where the girl was discovered not to have been harmed. Police have confirmed that the girl's parent's car and the girl was missing for an unspecified period. The suspect, whose identity has yet to be revealed, was apprehended without any trouble following the car's recovery, according to authorities cited by 6abc.
Details about the circumstances leading to the child's safe recovery have not been widely disclosed. The investigation into the abduction and vehicle theft is ongoing.
