In a distressing incident that recently took place in Yucaipa, authorities have apprehended two men in connection with the robbery and elder abuse of a 78-year-old local woman. The SBSD - Yucaipa Police Department reports that the suspects, identified as brothers Glenn and Lucas Hess, were taken into custody following an intensive investigation by the Yucaipa Police. Glenn Hess, at the age of 41, is facing several felony charges, while his older brother, Lucas, also a resident of Yucaipa, was arrested on a no-bail parole warrant.
According to the official press release, the incident took place on the 35000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard on June 21, when the victim was accosted after withdrawing money from a local bank. Glenn Hess allegedly threatened the elderly woman and forcefully took her purse before fleeing in his vehicle. Thankfully, quick-acting witnesses captured the escape on video, providing crucial evidence including the license plate number which, aided deputies in tracking down the suspects.
After being booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, both brothers now face the legal repercussions of their alleged actions. Glenn Hess, who is also recognized as an ex-felon, was arrested on multiple serious felony charges.
