
During the early hours of Independence Day, a high-speed chase unfolded in the streets of Apple Valley, resulting in the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department received a call around 3:01 am from a resident on Tecumseh Road, reporting the theft of two vehicles. According to the SBSD - Apple Valley Police Department, after locating the stolen vehicles, deputies saw the suspects switch to a green Kia Soul and initiated a pursuit that reached speeds upwards of 90 mph.
The chase, which lasted approximately 11 minutes, came to a halt thanks to the successful use of spike strips. Both occupants fled the vehicle, but the 15-year-old driver was promptly apprehended. He was transported to the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center, standing accused of vehicle theft and failure to yield, as stated in the press release.
