The Arlington Municipal Court is packing up and moving to a new temporary address downtown. From July 22, those looking to handle court-related affairs will find the court located at the University of Texas at Arlington's Social Work Complex, specifically at 211 S. Cooper St., Building A. The move, necessary due to planned renovations at the court's regular home in City Tower, will last approximately 18 months, during which all Municipal Court business will be addressed at the new locale.
The temporary relocation is part of the City's effort to upgrade various facilities within the City Tower, including public restrooms, elevators, HVAC systems, and parking lots. According to the City of Arlington, Texas, court visitors can make use of nearly 150 free public parking spaces in the lot north of the Social Work Complex. Access to parking is obtainable from Abram Street, between Cooper and Lampe Streets, and visitors are instructed to park in designated areas for the court.
Municipal Court business hours will continue as usual, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday for court clerk customer services and payments. For those wishing to avoid a physical visit to the court, various alternative payment methods are available. Ticket citations can be handled online, by phone, mail, or in person at the court’s temporary site. Each payment method, except for in-person transactions, includes an additional service fee.
To accommodate individuals with outstanding violations in Arlington, multiple payment options have been made available. Citations can be paid online at the Municipal Court's website, or by calling GPS at 1-888-604-7888 with pay location #1120. Payments can also be mailed to the Arlington Municipal Court at PO Box 90403, Mail Stop 63-0100, Arlington, Texas 76004. Despite the changes, court operations and services are set to continue without interruption for the community's needs.
