Authorities in the District of Columbia have reported a significant development in a saddening case that has lingered over the city for more than a year. After a meticulous investigation, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) disclosed that an arrest had been made in connection with the death of a 5-month-old child, a case that has been classified as a homicide.
The case began to unfold on the evening of February 11, 2023, when police were summoned to Massachusetts Avenue, where, sadly responsive to life's touch, an infant was found unconscious. Identified as Kenneth Geo Walton, the young boy was rushed to a hospital with injuries that would not yield to the care of medical professionals. According to the MPD, a little over a week later on February 18, the fight for Kenneth's fragile life came to an end. Following the somber conclusion of an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, it was confirmed that the cause of Kenneth's demise was due to complications of blunt force trauma, with the death's manner firmly ruled as homicide.
In the ensuing months, detectives and members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force labored over the case, a meticulously stitching quilt of evidence and testimony. On Thursday, July 11 their diligence culminated into action with the arrest of 35-year-old Christen Borden, a resident of Northwest, DC. The perpetrator was charged with First Degree Murder and transported to the Homicide Branch by officers.
