An unsettling incident unfolded in Bullhead City yesterday morning when a Cadillac sedan, driven by a 60-year-old man named Horace Letson, allegedly struck a pedestrian intentionally following a reported history of confrontations between the two individuals. The Bullhead City Police Department's Facebook post, confirmed the scene was responded to by emergency crews at about 11:07 a.m. near Langford Drive and Baseline Road.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital. The implicated Cadillac and Letson were located latter by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Mohave Valley, according to the authorities.
Further investigation by the Bullhead City Police Department's traffic unit at the residence in Mohave Valley revealed that Letson's right to operate a vehicle had been previously removed by the State of Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division. Consequently, Letson was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an injury collision, and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility in Kingman.
This incident has raised community concerns about road safety and civility, with locals expressing their anxiety on social media. As the legal proceedings against Letson are expected to unfold, residents of the community will be watching, hoping for justice and a reassurance of their personal safety. Echoing these concerns, the Bullhead City Police department asserted on their Facebook post, "Investigators learned Letson and the victim had a history confrontation, that the collision was an intentional act," highlighting the premeditated nature of the altercation which has shocked the otherwise quiet community.
