Heads up, Carroll County commuters: the Department of Public Works is rolling out a series of construction projects that could add some extra time to your drives starting July 8. Officials are urging locals to plan accordingly, especially when traveling through work zones where you may hit delays and lane closures due to flagging operations. Patience is key, as these upgrades to roads and bridges push on, according to Carroll County Government.
The county announcement outlines a sweeping array of construction work by the Bureau of Engineering: Flag Marsh Rd will be undergoing pipe replacement by Conewago, while Hickory Ridge and Nells Acres subdivisions will see some Stambaugh-led work. Laney is tackling a mill and fill on Keysville and Roop Rd, and, for those counting on utilities, sewer and water maintenance by Carroll County Utilities, including sewer main CCTV in Hilltop Estates Eldersburg and hydrant flushing just north of Rt 26 and west of Rt 32.
But it's not just the engineering bureau getting down to business—road operations are also on the docket. Apart from guardrail repairs handled by Long Fence Co. and tree trimming courtesy of C2 Tree Trimming, the county is also managing sign installation and repairs, as well as patching chip seal roads in-house. And, you'll want to keep an eye out for ongoing fiber installation projects by Antietam, Gridlock, Rills, and Quantum at various spots across the county.
Feeling apprehensive about construction disruptions? There's a resource for that.
