Two Coachella Valley men were arrested Saturday after reports of gunfire led to the discovery of multiple firearms and indications of negligent discharge at a Coachella residence. Lieutenant Steve Davis of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies responded to the scene in the 50000 block of Camino Coras at approximately 3:55 P.M. on June 30th.
Upon arrival, officials pinpointed the property in question and a search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Coachella Community Action Team and a K-9 Team. The search uncovered an array of weapons including four handguns, one rifle, and accompanying ammunition. Evidence suggested that the firearms had been discharged negligently in the home's backyard.
Frank Molina, 38, of Mecca, and Bernardo Moreno, 46, of Coachella, now face charges for negligent discharge of a firearm and child endangerment, as stated in a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The specific details surrounding the child endangerment charges were not immediately disclosed.
