The U.S. Navy shines a light on the lives of its service members, giving us a glimpse into the world of those who serve our country. Recently highlighted is Religious Program Specialist Third Class (RP3) Gregory Solis, who hails from Commerce City, Colorado. Solis enlisted in the Navy on June 11, 2023, and quickly found his place at NAS JRB Fort Worth, his first duty station. Serving others runs in his blood; his family's military lineage spans across branches and generations. He chose to continue this tradition, finding his calling within the Religious Program, a decision inspired by both heritage and personal dedication.
On base, RP3 Solis supports chaplains—figures entrusted with the spiritual welfare of military personnel. Whether indoors or in the field, their work is ubiquitous. As reported by NAS JRB Fort Worth's official Facebook page, his responsibilities include a mix of administration for religious services and direct interactions, such as organizing 'Chow with Chaps' events—where he cooks and serves food to tenant commands. Beyond his professional engagements, RP3 finds respite in sports, playing Ultimate Frisbee during Command PT, and dedicating time to volleyball as both player and coach.
RP3 Solis is not just committed to his military service but also to the personal principles he deems critical. "I want to live a life honoring God. To me, in the Navy that means excelling at my job, fostering spiritual readiness in and for Naval personnel, and creating a real community of service members who can interact and rely on one another," Solis asserted to NAS JRB Fort Worth. His vision extends to his life outside of the Navy, where he aims to build a family, pursue further education, seek adventures, and nurture a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
