After weeks of investigation, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended 35-year-old Wesley Larry Lyons, the suspect in the June 2 shootout at Harford Mall. Lyons, from Edgewood, was arrested without incident after deputies traced his movements to Anne Arundel County, thanks to advanced investigative technology, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

In a coordinated effort between the local authorities and Bel Air Police Department, the prolonged search was supported by extensive physical surveillance which enabled the discovery of Lyons' vehicle, and ultimately the hotel room where he was hiding. A search warrant later executed by Bel Air Police revealed Lyons’ location, leading to his arrest at approximately 1 p.m. the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

The Warrant Unit of the Sheriff’s Office utilized state-of-the-art technology to follow Lyons' tracks, demonstrating a high-tech approach to criminal tracking. This arrest showcases the effectiveness of leveraging technology in law enforcement operations.

Upon his arrest, Lyons was transferred to the custody of the Bel Air Police Department and is set to face charges related to the Harford Mall incident.
