In a quiet Encino neighborhood, a harrowing ordeal unfolded late at night when a babysitter and two children found themselves at the center of a burglary gone awry. According to ABC7, three suspects broke into a home near Edgerton Avenue and Moorpark Street around midnight—and the drama didn't end there. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the suspects had entered the residence through a shattered sliding glass door, only to flee upon realizing they were not alone.
Meanwhile, a parallel incident terrorized another family in the same area. This time, as detailed in a report by KTLA, "a woman, her grandchild, and a household employee" were forced into hiding during an invasion of their home on Edgerton Drive. Much like the earlier intrusion, these invaders also made their entrance by breaking a rear glass door. In the tense moments that followed, the family found sanctuary in an upstairs bedroom, avoiding physical harm. The LAPD has yet to assess the full extent of damages or the value of property taken in these incidents.
