Last Thursday, a dangerous situation unfolded on the streets of Fairfield. A vehicle was seen speeding southbound in the northbound lanes of North Texas Street, risking a serious collision. Fortunately, luck was on everyone's side that night, and disaster was avoided.
Fairfield Police Department quickly responded to the chaos. The car continued its reckless path through the intersection of East Tabor and Kidder Avenue, ignoring red lights and endangering other drivers. Officers acted swiftly, using sirens to stop the vehicle and ensure safety. Eventually, the car came to a stop, seemingly trying to blend in with normal nighttime traffic.
Behind the wheel was Sherry Sanders, 36, showing clear signs of intoxication—her eyes were glossy, and her movements were slow and unsteady. Police officers, trained to recognize such signs, conducted DUI tests on Sanders. These tests confirmed her impairment, as reported by the Fairfield Police Department.
After the investigation, Sanders was taken into custody and escorted to Solano County Jail. She faces charges related to the night's events, including DUI. This incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of reckless driving and the efforts of law enforcement to keep the community safe.
