
In a straightforward apprehension, Fairfield Police Department officers captured a wanted felon who attempted a fleeting escape. Duane Wildman, 40, previously identified by law enforcement as having an outstanding felony warrant related to firearms, was located last Saturday afternoon by Officer S. Smith, according to the department's Facebook post.
The encounter sparked an immediate flight as Wildman dashed away from the officer, engaging in an impromptu hurdle over neighborhood fences. However, the escape was short-lived as Fairfield's finest rapidly established a tight blockade around the vicinity. Per the Fairfield Police Department's account, Wildman was subsequently discovered ensconced beneath a vehicle in the backyard of a residence on the 1500 block of Hawaii Street.
When the police took him into custody, their search uncovered more than just the man. Alongside Wildman lay a pellet gun, items believed to be methamphetamine, numerous burglary tools, and what appeared to be counterfeit money. Wildman was escorted and booked into the County Jail without undue commotion or incidents.
