A 54-year-old Farmington Hills resident, Adnan Ali Eltobji, has been charged with a moving violation leading to death after a traffic incident in May resulted in the loss of a motorcyclist's life. According to ClickOnDetroit, the crash occurred on May 1 at around 4:45 p.m. in Oxford Township, where Eltobji did not fully stop at a flashing red signal before turning onto Lapeer Road—in front of a motorcycle—causing the motorcyclist's fatal ejection.

Upon being struck by Eltobji's vehicle, the motorcyclist, identified as 66-year-old Jimmie Allen Haggadone of Orion Township, was thrown from his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle and sadly succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. While released on a $5,000 personal bond, as per WWJ Radio News, Eltobji was treated for minor injuries after the accident and is due back in court on August 21.

The office of the Oakland County Sheriff indicated that Haggadone had been southbound on North Lapeer Road on his motorcycle, as Eltobji, driving eastbound on his 2012 Toyota Corolla, made a fatal right turn onto the same road. Eltobji, who failed to complete a stop at the flashing red signal, now faces up to a year in prison and a $2,000 fine, or both, if convicted, reported ABC12.
