The City of Fort Worth is on the lookout for local food vendors and restaurateurs keen to sink their teeth into a pioneering dining program at the brand-new city hall. Partnered with Fooda, the city aims to inject a dose of app-based convenience and rotating culinary delights into the workplace, with different local eateries gracing the building each weekday.

Robert Sturns, economic development director for Fort Worth, sees this as a unique opening for homegrown talent. He stated, "This is a great opportunity for local food businesses to test the waters when it comes to expanding their services," as per the City of Fort Worth. The initiative promises to ease the typically complex transition from modest kitchen setups to food trucks, or even full-fledged brick-and-mortar establishments while offering city employees a built-in customer base.

As part of the city’s consolidation strategy, nearly 1,600 city employees will shift into the single location of the new city hall, previously the Pier 1 Imports headquarters. Known for facilitating public access, the new hub is set to also feature a 'one-stop shop' for business services, ranging from permitting processes to customer service, and zoning tasks, all under one roof.

"Fort Worth’s culinary scene is incredibly diverse, and what better way to celebrate it than to showcase it as part of our new city hall?" Christina Brooks, the city's chief equity officer and director of the Diversity & Inclusion Department, stated, as per the City of Fort Worth. Emphasizing the venture's breadth, Brooks highlighted the potential to elevate both the acclaimed and emerging players of the local food scene.

Interested vendors can get a slice of the action at the program's kickoff event, held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30. Taking place at the new Fort Worth City Hall's mezzanine level, the opportunity is ripe for those looking to engage with the community and tap into a daily stream of potential patrons. Although participation is free, seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis, encouraging food entrepreneurs to register online to secure their place in this innovative culinary initiative.
