Victorville was the scene of a dramatic end to a police chase Tuesday morning when a vehicle pursuit concluded with a crash. The suspect identified as 51-year-old Richard Irwin, a transient of Victorville, led deputies on a harrowing high-speed pursuit that ended on the 16800 block of Crestview Drive, after losing control of his pickup truck and crashing into a business fence, as reported by the SBSD - Victorville Police Department.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the pursuit began around 8:24 a.m. after deputies attempted to stop Irwin in connection with an ongoing investigation. Irwin's refusal to yield set off the chase which resulted in the suspect’s vehicle flipping over, immediately after executing a sudden turn at the intersection of Hesperia Road, and Crestview Drive. It was later discovered that Irwin was on parole, and had allegedly removed his ankle monitor.
