An 18-year-old man was killed at an Irvine sober-living home early Monday morning in what authorities are calling a homicide. The Irvine Police are investigating the death near Tyler Place and Boulder Creek Way, as reported by the Irvine Police Department

According to the KTLA report, the police spokesperson Kyle Oldoerp confirmed the deceased was discovered at a residence set up to house six people striving for sobriety.

The suspect, 24-year-old Baxton Tysean Hill from Indiana, was apprehended near Barstow with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol just before 9 a.m., following his departure from the crime scene, as per KTLA. The swift capture comes on a backdrop of an incident where both the suspect and the victim were not only residents of the sober-living home but were also believed to be roommates.

Residents of the Irvine neighborhood have expressed concern about the facility, which they say has been a source of previous police and medical emergency activity. "Ever since they converted this to a sober living facility, we will have either police activity or ambulances because of drug overdoses," Leif Olson, an Irvine resident, told ABC7.

The investigation is ongoing and the authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist by calling (949) 724-7000, shared by the Irvine Police Department.
