A juvenile male has been taken into custody, charged in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of another young boy in Houston. The incident took place at 6503 Wanda Lane in the yesterday, as reported by the City of Houston news release.

At around 2:30 a.m., Houston Police Department officers responded to a call about a gunshot incident within an apartment complex after which they discovered the unresponsive body suffering from a gunshot wound, the HPD Homicide Division including Detectives C. Sharp and E. May are investigating the case, the shooting led to the dispatch of Houston Fire Department paramedics who later pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased, just 13 years old, is still under review by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Following further probe and collection of witness accounts, it was understood that the victim and the accused, who is only 15, were together with other juveniles at the scene before the tragic shooting occurred, it was during this gathering that the suspect allegedly discharged the firearm leading to the fatal outcome. In the aftermath, the Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted manslaughter charges against the teenage suspect who has since been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities without the release of his name or photo due to his juvenile status.
