A blaze that erupted in Green Meadows on Sunday was promptly extinguished by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire, which began in a detached garage that had been partially converted into a living space, was contained within 12 minutes by 34 firefighters. The incident took place at 340 E 95th St, with smoke visible upon the firefighter's arrival, according to the LAFD.

The garage was behind a single-family home but, thankfully, the quick response from the LAFD prevented any spread to nearby structures. Although the fire was rapidly controlled, one male patient, who was the sole inhabitant of the garage, suffered from smoke inhalation. Aided by firefighters, this individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment, as reported by the LAFD.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, as per the LAFD. Despite the swift extinguishment of the flames, the LAFD has not ruled out any possibilities and aims to uncover the exact sequence of events that led to Sunday's incident. Fire Station 64, along with several other fire and rescue units, including Battalions 1 and 11, Engine Companies 57, 64, 65, Rescue Ambulances 264, 864, and Truck Companies 33 and 64, was involved in the intervention.
