The incident, recorded as INC#0175, occurred at 175 E 49th St, with the LAFD stating that crews initiated an interior fire attack coordinated with rooftop ventilation measures, culminating in the knockdown of the flames at 2:06 am.

No injuries were reported following the incident, which the LAFD has attributed to a malfunctioning piece of medical equipment although the safety of the structure was compromised, leading to the issuance of a Red Tag by Building and Safety, ensuring that the family will not reoccupy the unsafe home. A SAVE card was provided to the affected family on the scene, offering them much-needed assistance during this unexpected disaster, the prompt response from firefighters prevented what could have been a severe tragedy, according to the LAFD.
The fire took place in Council District 9, under the jurisdiction of Battalion 13, and saw the deployment of multiple units including Battalion Chiefs 11 and 13, Engines 14, 21, 46, 221, 233, and 33, along with Rescue Ambulances 15, 33, and 846, leading to a quick control of the situation.
