Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) rushed to confront a brush fire in Bell Canyon on Sunday after flames were reported at 4:24 PM near 9 Saddlebow Rd. The LAFD, serving as an assisting agency to the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD), deployed both air and ground resources to tackle the blaze that initially spread over approximately four acres of medium brush.

According to the official LAFD alert, the fire was burning slowly but posed a potential threat to at least one home in the area. Firefighting crews were deployed to not only contain the fire but also to protect structures potentially in the path of the flames. No injuries have yet been reported, and as of the time of the response, the cause of the fire remained under active investigation.

On-the-ground efforts were coordinated to effectively manage and suppress the blaze. "Companies on scene will be protecting structures in the area and coordinating resources to contain the spread," the LAFD stated. While the fire department worked to get the fire under control, they have not provided any updates on the containment status.

The incident prompted a significant response from various firefighting units, including helicopters and specialized equipment. The LAFD listed the responding units, which consisted of helicopters HA1, HA3, HA4, HA5, and several engine companies including E104 and E106. Ra106 and tactical teams like T105 were also among the units that were quickly mobilized to assist in the operations.

At this time, local residents are being advised to stay informed and to be ready to follow directions from emergency officials. The VCFD, as the Incident Command for further inquiries, has been directing the media to seek any additional details through their official communications. No evacuations have been ordered, but the situation remains dynamic, and authorities are closely monitoring conditions.
