The Los Angeles Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the community to track down a hit-and-run driver responsible for the death of a 26-year-old woman in Larchmont. As reported by CBS News Los Angeles, the incident occurred on June 22 at about 3:20 a.m. near the crossing of N. Western Avenue and Rosewood Avenue. The woman was within a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a white pickup truck believed to be a Ford or Chevrolet.
The driver did not stop to offer help or identify themselves, which is required by law. The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. In an initiative to find the perpetrator, the City of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to their identification, arrest, and conviction, as part of the Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund.
