On Monday, the quiet streets of Loma Linda were disrupted by a tragic incident as 88-year-old Jemie Sagulo was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot, a collision that would later claim his life; the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the fatal event which occurred on July 8, at approximately 12:40 p.m. on the 2500 block of Barton Road, as reported by the official announcement released by the Sheriff's Department.
Deputies who answered the emergency vehicle versus pedestrian call found Sagulo injured and lying on the ground in front of a business, he was immediately given medical care at the scene, and transported to a local hospital but despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival there, as per the SBSD - Central. The driver involved in the incident, identified as Eddalee Tolentino, was present when the deputies arrived and have been cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation into the critical circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.
