Last night in Long Beach was marked by a series of violent incidents, including a shooting, two stabbings, and a homicide, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). Officers also successfully recovered a firearm after a traffic collision.

The first incident, a stabbing, occurred on the 1100 Block of Anaheim Street around 6:47 p.m. A female victim engaged in a verbal altercation with another woman, escalating to the victim suffering multiple stab wounds to the upper body. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, as reported by LBPD. The suspect fled before authorities arrived and is currently being sought.

Late in the evening, at about 11:49 p.m., on the 1100 Block of 2nd Street, a similar scenario unfolded as a male victim was stabbed after a dispute with a female suspect. Long Beach first responders again provided medical aid, and the victim's condition was stabilized. In this case, the suspect was apprehended and identified as Jaylene Dominguez, a Long Beach resident, now facing assault charges with a set bail at $30,000.

Violence escalated further early in the morning of July 5, when a female was shot in the lower body. Occurring on the 400 block of East Morningside Street just before 3:00 a.m., it appears that the shot was fired toward the victim's residence, according to the LBPD statement. Emergency services conveyed the victim to the hospital in stable condition while the shooter remains unidentified.

The sequence of the previous night's events also included the discovery of a homicide on the 1000 block of Stanley Avenue, which is under LBPD's investigation. Commendably, amidst these unsettling incidents, officers located and seized a firearm following a single-vehicle traffic collision on the 200 block of Coronado Avenue. The suspected individual connected to the weapon was apprehended, and investigations into the collision and recovery continue.
