Long Beach Police Department homicide detectives are on the trail of a suspect in a deadly stabbing that seized the life of a man on the Fourth of July. The incident unfurled in the 1000 block of Stanley Avenue around 10:03 p.m., as officers received reports of the altercation.
Upon their arrival, authorities discovered a male adult with critical stab wounds to his upper body. Efforts by the responding officers—delivered medical aid with an urgency characteristic of the direst emergencies—continued until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived. The victim was then swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his wounds, as detailed in a statement from the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators at the scene have dug into the events leading up to the tragedy and discerned that the victim was embroiled in a verbal dispute with a male adult suspect.
