
Last night, Long Beach officers carried out a successful operation retrieving six firearms from the street, securing two arrests in the process. According to the Long Beach Police Department blotter, at about 6:03 p.m. on July 7, police were tipped off about firearms in a vehicle near 14th Street and Pine Avenue. They discovered a male adult and a male juvenile, both prohibited from possessing firearms, along with two guns on their persons and another four guns in a nearby vehicle.
The series of events unfolded when officers responded swiftly to the report and the investigation that ensued resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, two of the weapons having the suspects and four additional arms were found in a vehicle, both suspects were taken into custody sans incident, as per the Long Beach Police Department.
In a second but unrelated encounter, officers patrolling in the early morning hours of July 8, around 1:14 a.m., came across a vehicle stuck in the sand on Ocean Boulevard, the routine check for driving under the influence leading to the discovery of another firearm inside the vehicle, the driver was arrested without any untoward occurrence, the Long Beach Police Department says.
