According to the Seattle Police Department’s blotter, officers were dispatched at around 12:51 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots and a woman’s screams near North 90th Street and Aurora Avenue North. Upon arrival, the police found a 24-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The situation escalated quickly when the patrol officers who came first on the scene needed to immediately apply medical treatment, including a tourniquet, to attempt to staunch the bleeding. The man's condition was stabilized by the Seattle Fire Department upon their arrival, before being taken to the hospital. The SPD blotter reveals that the man and another individual were reportedly threatening people with a chainsaw before the shooting took place.

Meanwhile, officers at the scene securely confiscated multiple shell casings, suspected narcotics, and the aforementioned chainsaw as evidence. The Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives have taken the helm of this ongoing investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge about the incident to step forward. "If anyone has information, please call the SPD Violent Crime Tip Line at (206) 233-5000, or Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-TIPS," stated the Seattle Police Department.
