
Early this morning, the Metropolitan Police Department began an inquiry into a deadly shooting incident in the southeastern quadrant of the city. Authorities were called to the 4000 block of South Capitol Street around 2:27 a.m. following reports of gunfire, as stated in a press release from the MPD. The incident left one man dead and another critically injured.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located two men inside of an apartment, suffering from gunshot wounds. The DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services were quick to respond, transporting the first victim to a local hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Tragically, the second victim did not survive and was pronounced dead at the location of the shooting. Authorities have since identified the deceased as 38-year-old Morris Frazier, a resident of Southeast, DC.
