A Michigan man has been arraigned on charges relating to surreptitiously filming women at a Canton shopping center. Willie Eugene Davis, 42, is facing serious legal repercussions after being charged with using a computer to commit a crime and eavesdropping by installing a device, as Audacy reported. Arrested on July 17, Davis's actions were part of what the Canton Police described as a "series of eavesdropping cases." It was with the cooperation of the Van Buren Police Department that the arrest was possible. Authorities have yet to publicly identify the specific stores targeted in these alleged incidents, but nevertheless have charged Davis in Plymouth's 35th District Court.

The charges Davis faces could lead to conveniently spend up to four years behind bars if he is convicted. His bond was set at $75,000 during the arraignment, with an initial 10% needed for release. His next court hearing is scheduled for Aug. 2.

Further detailing the incidents, Canton Police Lt. Michael Andes revealed the arrest occurred after Davis used a cellphone to record under the dresses of women at a local Walmart on Ford Road. "There are many more victims out there that don’t know they were victimized," Andes stated, pointing to a disturbing breach of privacy. Confiscated video evidence shows numerous women were unknowingly targeted, a detail mentioned by hometownlife.
