Authorities are seeking assistance from the public to identify suspects involved in a reported retail theft and unlawful entry at a CVS located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) released information regarding an incident that occurred on June 10, at around 6:00 p.m., where individuals allegedly took items from the store without payment. Along with the theft, additional suspects purportedly entered the CVS after employees communicated that the store was closing for the day.
Caught on video, the suspects were documented inside the store during the time of the theft. In response to the incident, the MPD has made efforts to engage community members by releasing surveillance images and asking for assistance in identifying those responsible for the theft and unlawful entry. This outreach underscores the growing concern over retail crime in city areas, seeking to tap into the collective vigilance of residents and business owners.
Members of the public who have information regarding this case are encouraged to contact the police. The MPD provides several avenues to submit tips—a testament to the department's adaptation to the multimedia age, recognizing that different members of the community may prefer different modes of communication. Tips can be provided anonymously if the informant desires privacy or fears potential repercussions. Concerned citizens can contact the MPD's Command Information Center at 202-727-909, or text their tip to the department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The MPD offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
