A man from Needles, California, faced a tense altercation with law enforcement officers when he was arrested for trespassing and later attempted to seize a deputy's firearm, according to official reports. The incident unfolded on the evening of July 22, as deputies responded to a trespassing report on the 1900 block of Clary Drive.
Emiliano Castillo, 37, was identified as the suspect on the scene where deputies established evidence of his trespassing. Arrested and taken to the Colorado River Station jail, Castillo's situation escalated during his booking process. Transported to a local hospital to be medically cleared for booking, it was being escorted back when Castillo tried to take the service weapon from a deputy's holster.
In the wake of this confrontation, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department placed Castillo in custody with bail set at $30,000.00, as he now awaits a court hearing.
