The Oak Cliff Cultural Center is rolling out a series of summer events and programs, and while residents will have to take a brief pause for Fourth of July activities, the center will resume its mission to enliven the community with music, comedy, and art soon after the holiday.
According to the City of Dallas, the Cultural Center, which will be closed tomorrow in observance of Independence Day, is set to re-open with a schedule that includes free music education and sound therapy sessions provided by Swan Strings, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Taking place on Thursdays at 6:30 PM and Saturdays at 11:00 AM, these offerings aim to strike a chord with North Texans lacking in access to such cultural engagements.
Those interested in Swan Strings' offerings can reach out directly at [email protected] for any burning questions. But music isn't the only medium getting the spotlight this summer at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Residents can kick back on July 19 with 'FTC Comedy Presents', featuring Comedian Q and a visual art showcase by Forrest Aderholt, curated by Christine Burger, which will run through August 9.
For those looking to pencil in an evening of laughs and artistic exploration, ticket information will be available on the center's website. Situated at 223 W. Jefferson Boulevard, the center is open throughout the summer from Monday to Friday, noon to 5 PM, but remember, it's by appointment only. Keep up with their events through their social channels or contact them at 214-670-3777 for further details, as per the City of Dallas.
