A shooting in Long Beach has left one person dead and two others injured, authorities say. The incident occurred on Monday night around 9 p.m. near the intersection of 49th Street and Long Beach Boulevard, as reported by ABC7. The Long Beach Police Department has yet to release details on what might have initiated the violent event but confirms that three men were shot by an assailant who then fled the scene.
One victim was declared deceased at the location of the shooting, while the two others were found wounded, one was rushed to a hospital and the other received treatment at the scene and was later released, according to the CBS Los Angeles report. In the aftermath of the violence, Long Beach Fire Department officials were among the first responders as the area quickly swarmed with emergency personnel, the sequence of the events that led to the shooting remains under investigation, and the police have not yet disclosed a description of the suspect involved.
Further information has come forth suggesting that the shooting took place at or near Carlies Bar—a local establishment situated within the affected strip mall. Authorities were documented by the overhead SkyCal cameras of CBS News Los Angeles as they secured the crime scene, conducting their inquiry both inside the bar and in the parking area that fronts the business.
