A high-speed pursuit and a sequence of unlawful activities came to a head this weekend as Bexar County deputies apprehended two individuals linked to a series of crimes including robbery, drug charges, and mail theft. The suspects, identified as Mason Cyrus Nabers, 29, and Mary Helen Lilly, 33, attempted to evade law enforcement after their vehicle was stopped for traffic violations on Saturday afternoon.
As FOX San Antonio reports, the ensuing chase began when a red Toyota Tacoma, later uncovered to be stolen, led deputies on a chase that resulted in the truck colliding with a white SUV. Nabers and Lilly were later located at a nearby gas station, with crucial help from local witnesses and CCTV footage obtained from a smoke shop that showed the pair leaving the stolen truck.
Upon their arrest, deputies discovered drugs and a firearm hidden inside a black backpack placed in a trash can near their location. The weapons and narcotics cache included a gun, marijuana, and a bag of crystal meth. "Nabers was found to have multiple outstanding felony warrant," and "Lilly had an outstanding warrant for robbery," as outlined in the original article.
