
An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times during an attempted robbery in Renton early Friday morning. According to KOMO News, the young man was ambushed while sitting in his vehicle off Southeast 162nd Street and was confronted by a group demanding his possessions.

The police reported the victim was alone near Lindbergh High School around 2 a.m., presumably waiting to meet an acquaintance, when he was held at gunpoint, as per KOMO News. After he fled from his car in an attempt to escape, he was shot and then collapsed down the street where he called for help.
As detailed by KING 5, Renton police are now searching for 3-5 suspects involved in the shooting, though the relationship between the suspects and the victim is currently murky, and it is unclear if there was a prior connection, or if the young man found himself the target of strangers.
