
Authorities have apprehended a suspect linked to a stabbing incident that turned deadly in Northwest D.C. on Wednesday. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to a parking garage on the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue, responding to a fight report around 11:58 a.m., where they discovered two individuals with severe stab injuries. In a revelation delivered following the tragic event, one of the victims, subsequently named as 36-year-old Anvar Guliyev of Fairfax, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Surgeons scrambled to save lives, both victims were given immediate care, with one admitted in a critical state, yet despite exhaustive attempts, their interventions failed to prevent Guliyev's death. The surviving victim's current condition remains undisclosed. The suspect, Khalil Khalilov, a 34-year-old Alexandria resident has since been detained. He is now facing charges including Second Degree Murder while Armed and Assault with Intent to Kill in connection with the incident.
The arrest came after an intense investigation by D.C.’s detectives yesterday, a day following the attack.
